Festival Forum 1: The Sensory Landscape of Cities

Several works in this year's Festival have as a theme our relationship with the city and the built environment.

Hear participants from the Architects Project speak about their fantasy designs for Perth's cityscape. UK-based collective Onedotzero, in association with the British Council, creates a digital safari through the urban landscape, presenting the city from upbeat futuristic fantasy-playground to edgy, fragmented dystopian landscape. Including work from leading digital artists, it poses the question about the emergence of ‘virtual' cities.

Lucy Guerin shares the inspiration for her award-winning dance work Structure and Sadness, based on the collapse of the Westgate Bridge in Melbourne in 1970, killing 35 construction workers. Guerin's beautiful choreographic work creates a language of tension and balance, dissolving into an emotional conclusion.
