Performing Daydream Nation in a Don't Look Back Concert
Known for their wild and experimental alternative rock, this seminal New York quartet perform their watershed album Daydream Nation in a landmark Festival event.
Hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Daydream Nation was honoured among the first 200 albums chosen for inclusion in America's Library of Congress National Recording Registry.
Emerging from the prolific 80s New York music and art scene, Sonic Youth combine the intensity of the Stooges and The Velvet Underground with the punk poet style of Patti Smith and the avant-garde influence of John Cage.
Originally released in 1988, Daydream Nation captures a band exploring experimental music with driving rhythms, squalling guitars and edgy lyrics to create songs that defined a generation.
