SF BAY GUARDIAN
Wowing audiences from Woodford Folk Festival to the Edinburgh Fringe, Mike Silverman uses a self-taught percussive technique to create a mix of earthy blues, tribal rhythms, future funk and psychedelic beats played 100% live.
In this infectious and inventive one-man show Silverman expertly plucks, bows and slaps the single bass string of his homemade ‘magic pipe' - an almost seven-foot high collage of galvanized steel, duct tape and electronic gadgetry run through an array of samplers and effects.
