From the father and son team responsible for the Oscar-winning Kolya comes Empties, the highest grossing film of all time in the Czech Republic.
Tkaloun (Zdenek Sverak), a recently retired cantankerous and short-tempered teacher, struggles to find ways to fill his days. When he accepts a job in the bottle recycling department of the local supermarket handling ‘empties', his life takes a turn for the better.
Funny and moving, Tkaloun discovers that it's never too late to find ways to help others and to enjoy life's opportunities no matter how simple they may be.
