Emotionally engaging, this film is cinema at its most potent and provocative. Eighty-year-old piano teacher Frau Krüger is teaching Jenny, a gifted but disturbed young woman, at a women's penitentiary.
Krüger is as ruthless a teacher as Jenny is a damaged human being. Despite the generations that divide them, mutual respect between them grows, together with their shared love of music.
Secrets are unearthed and emotions unleashed, leading to the film's powerful climax and Jenny's four electrifying minutes of fame.
