This funny and touching film will strike a chord with everyone in a globalised and changing world where disappearing jobs, arbitrary outsourcing and resulting culture clashes are becoming the norm.
Todd Anderson (Josh Hamilton) learns that his Seattle office plans to outsource its work to a call centre in India and he has been chosen to train the telemarketing staff in the fine art of speaking ‘American' and selling a range of all-American knick-knacks.
A stranger in a strange land, Todd's openness and vulnerability make for a steep learning curve as he labours to teach his charges the finer points of selling kitsch Americana like Wisconsin cheese hats, miniature flags and hot doggy toasters.
