Adapted from Alan Ayckbourn's witty play and directed by Alain Resnais, the undisputed French master of innovation, this gentle drama is set in a magically snowbound Paris where six characters struggle to maintain meaningful relationships in the face of loneliness, disappointment and old age.

The consummate performances of stage and film actors Laura Morante, André Dussollier, Sabine Azéma and Pierre Arditi are one of the reasons why Resnais' film succeeds so effortlessly in combining the cinematic with the theatrical.
