The Easter Oratorio and Easter Cantata are among Bach's most vibrant masterworks with brilliant and demanding instrumental music and choruses.

This world premiere of the New London Consort's semi-staged performance vividly enhances the imagery, emotion and drama of the story of the Resurrection of Christ. Reflecting the latest scholarly thinking on the number of singers and players in original performances of Bach's choral works, Philip Pickett's unique interpretation of these inspiring masterpieces is powerful, provocative and deeply moving.
