Since bursting onto the scene in the 90s, the award-winning saxophonist Chris Potter has blazed an impressive musical trail. Forging his style from a deep understanding of the jazz masters, his technical prowess is matched only by his limitless creativity.

This special Festival event begins with a blistering set by Underground, Potter's superlative band. Rhythms run riot as the band interplay gives way to scorching solos.

Underground are then joined by six of Australia's finest classical and jazz musicians in the first live performance outside New York of Potter's acclaimed new album Song for Anyone. Woodwinds and strings provide rich, semi-orchestral textures while Potter's muscular sax tone effortlessly illuminates and amplifies the sophisticated ensemble arrangements.
